Model year differences in the 7.3 94-97 vs 99+

I am in the market for a 94-97 F350 7.3

What are the major differences between this model year and the 99+? This truck would be my personal truck but I am going to make it work(towing, hauling etc)

Do I lose on anything major from picking the early year ranges?

94-97 don't have a intercooler.
The 99+ have PMR's (started in 01 IIRC), split shot injectors, intercooler, and more power.

I have a 94 and like it.
The auto trans in the newer trucks is pretty nice.
