Hi,
Does anyone here remember the after market turbo kits for older farm tractors such as the JD 4020? Well, I came across one in the neighbors shed the other day. The JD 4020 is a 404 cu engine and is has its rated HP at 2100 rpm. The 6.5 is a 396 cu engine which in my opinion performs best at around 2400 rpm. Wouldn't this turbo fit on a 6.5 fairly well? The M&W doesn't have any A/R's and neither does the GM turbo, so I don't know how they compare directly, but just looking at these numbers they seem to be fairly similar, the only variable that I can't account for is the amount of boost the M&W was designed to run at. Just my latest off the wall sceme...

2400 is kind of over the top for the 6.5. I think the optimum rpm is at 1850. It does turn over 2400, but I think thats past the downhill slide of the torque curve.

I was just wondering, is your pickup green with yellow wheels? ;)

The only reason I say 2400 is that is near what my pickup tends to run at pulling a trailer. I can't hold it at 1850 with my automatic trans... No it isn't the classic yellow and green, I'm not really a big fan, but it is what I have around.
