Intercooler installation questions.

Putting an IC from a 2000ish Powerstroke into my 93.

Any thoughts on how critical it is to get it as close as possible to the radiator?? I would like to move it as close as I can, but I would have to trim what I feel is too much out of the radiator support to accomplish that. Failing that, what are your thoughts on making some type of a flexible rubber shroud to kind of seal the gap between the IC and radiator somewhat-trying to keep as much airflow through both at slower speeds when airflow is dependent on the fan.

Or am I overthinking things again????

that sounds like a good idea. you got my gears turnin on this one. but i'm alil new at this to, i learn as go lol. i don't see why that wouldn't work thow

Lots of newer vehicles have the a/c condensers and such done just that way, plastic shrouds to take up the gap and keep the air flowing through all coolers.
