I decided to swap my injectors and turbo kit with another truck as well as the sidewinder turbo to upgrade my first gen ats.

I found several wet tips 4 were dry n mildly sooty like normal the one i was concerned wiith is covered in oil ( see pic). Ideas on cause i know the injectors dont have oil like a psd does.
It runs pretty good just was smokey n i had a feeling a couple were leaky as its been eating glowplugs

Thanks yall

I hope so wasnt happy with the low end on that older ats. I suspected leaking injectors which is why this whole thing got started.
The oil soaked one still has me puzzled

Sorry. I got your current turbo set up wrong. Either way, it will be a good step up. Are you certain that it's oil and not a lot of soot mixed with diesel fuel? From what I could see, I couldn't see any oil in your pictures. What was on the injectors looks pretty clear and not black like oil would be.

I thought you'd like it. With the fueling we gave them, as a group, the second gen Sidewinders seemed to get the most boost, as a whole. With all new engines (and sometimes rebuilt turbos if needed) they usually got 12-13 PSI. The ATS 093s, as a group, seemed to be slightly less at usually 11-12 PSI. The most boost that I saw was with a 093. That got 14 PSI. That was empty, in 4th gear (ZF5), 3000 RPM, and, admittedly, probably not enough fuel. Our fuel settings were based on the info from out pump/injector rebuilder. We had some "turbo" spec pumps that we put on engines with turbos, but we didn't always have one on hand and had to turn up a "N/A" pump.

You're welcome. Just remember that nobody has the exact same experiences with these trucks/vans/engines so all of our input is valuable.
