Well after about 2 1/2 years of working on it here and there I got my 92 F350 crew cab long bed running. It isn't finished by no means but I have put 300 miles on it so far. Now I know descriptions without video and pictures is hard to prove. But they will come. Heres the run down on the build. 88 7.3 idi with 120K completely rebuilt. 0.030 overbore. New Mahle 0.020 shorter coated pistons. New rings and bearings throughout. ARP head studs torqued to what arp recommends because the guys who make these parts have way more expensive testing equipment than super mechanic Joe who likes to give it an extra turn. Delta Cams reground cam, I think its very similar to the type4 cam. Ported stock heads, new stainless valves. Comp 910 springs set to the same height. factory turbo motor up pipe. Hooked to a HE351CW from a 06ish dodge Cummins ported ehaust entry and wastegate. Silencer ring removed. 99 psd intercooler. Built my own 3" aluminum piping. to a modified ats trubo hat. Moose Mister injectors, Omega Moose pump. Got it from a guy on here think it may be the original one. Factory in tank gas efi pump regulated with bypass reg. Filtered by to spin on filters. 3" down pipe to 4" basically a modified stainless 7.3 psd system. No muffler. stock ZF5 trans. LUK clutch plate and flywheel with dual friction style clutch plate. Drove it with the stock pump maxed out and results didn't really impress me that much. 16 psi max barley touched 900 egt. almost no smoke though. Put the Omega on it and its a whole different deal. Still need to time it properly. So far it runs 20psi easy. Way too much fuel below about 1800-2000 pulls great at 2400-2800 3000 it falls off. you can run it ******* a hill and it runs 25psi. I hooked a trailer about 6,000# to it to get an idea how it will do and up a hill in 4th running about 2800 it blew an intercooler boot at 28psi and 1100egt. So im pleased with it so far. I have a couple oil leaks to fix and some tuning to do.
ps. If you are wondering if its fast. No it isn't. Its a boat of a truck and isn't fast nor will it ever be. But is a big improvement over a stock idi. I would put it right there with a obs power stroke with maybe a tow tune.Does sound cool though with the turbo whistle.
