So I had a tick and white smoke last weekend. Truck was running weird. While I was trying to fix that I came across a couple other things.
1. Change your fuel filter once in a while is what I learned. I was doing the old ATF filter trick and when I pulled the filter to add ATF found this. This isn't even all the dirt that was in the bottom of the filter housing. I'm guessing this filters been on there since I got the truck drivable a couple years ago and caught all the crap in my tanks that accumulated before i had filler knecks and stuff installed. Fuel from the lines was clean as could be so I'm not worried about contaminated fuel currently.
2. Glowplug controller had a burned out lug. So I'm guessing this is why trucks been starting just a touch harder this summer. VS firing right off it was taking a little cranking. Glad I found it before things got cold.
So moral of the story is check stuff out once in a while.
