at least on a wastegated sidewinder.

Remove the air filter, oil line, oil return line. Then remove the strap that holds the cartridge to the exhaust side of the turbo. This allows you to yank the center section and the intake side out. Now you have lots of room to maneuver around the rest of it.

I noticed a loss of a couple lbs of boost and with a little investigation I found a bit of end play in the sidewinder turbo. Probably a combination of wheel carnage because of the K&N in the bed last year and excess boost this year. I wanted to swap the extra turbo that I have in and see if it's any good (it's not) and I didn't want to unbolt the entire thing. This technique worked very good. I had the old one out and the new one in in less than an hour including swapping the compressor wheel.
