I've heard of those 4way valves having issues with getting stoved up and breaking. I ran two of the 3 way valves for that reason, and because the 3way valves are cheaper/much more common. Also allows you to transfer fuel between the two tanks, which has come in really handy a few times. No issues with the Carter pump pulling fuel from the tank clear through filters and the valves. As long as it's mounted lower than the tanks (mine is on the frame rail next to the transfer case), you should be fine.

Had the same problem with 3-way valves. I they are mounted below the floor,
(most common mounting area), they get splashed by all the road grime.
It they are not operated fairly often, the corrosion will build up in the sealing
area under the top nut, and on the ball itself.
4-ways seem worse, because there is more to move when you turn it.

Agreed on the 3-ways being less expensive and easier to get.
Also on the tank transfers, but I don't REMEMBER the last time I did that :)
Always seems to need more fuel in BOTH tanks......
