I pulled a dual range out of an auto 4x4 truck and i am putting it in a 4x4 manual trans. So i dont really need the stuff that the auto control box has. I was wondering how to kinda make my own harness and can i use just a plain rocker switch or something similar? I just want to do this right so i dont mess this thing up. Thanks for the help and info yall. And does anyone know how to id wether or not its OD or UD unit?

Again I think you should call US Gear and get their advice. I never bought a thing from them but they were extremely helpful and patient. Now as to your question, if I remember right the dual range is controlled by a hot and a ground and you can use any switch you like. The switch Doug Nash engineering used is available at Napa and I think it's the same one used for a certain Eaton-Fuller 2 speed axle. Not sure which one though. I think the only criteria I would use would be easy to reach on the gearshift or dash.
