driving by spot mirror

my wife and i took a trip up 395 to bodie,ca.lots of steep hills and 8000+elevation. i can easily fumigate an entire hwy if im not watching my smoke in my spot mirror. got 15.07 mpg @75 mph

made it back home.had a headwind coming back.only got 13 mpg.truck didnt use any oil. weird because it drinks oil in town.

saw another truck exactly like mine! even had a smokey idi in it.tried to be friendly but its driver didnt care.

I have been to Bodie a few years back. Really enjoyed that trip. Way out in the middle of nowhere too. Sure must have gotten really cold there by all the tin cans opened up and used to block knot holes in the wood building walls. Saw one building that had one complete wall made out of opened tin cans. The roads are tuff on our engines because of the elevations. Ever try driving "up the hill" from 395 to Tahoe. Now thats a climb.
