Hi All,

I'm a new member and have a question about DB2 pumps. My '93 6.5l turbo is currently running a db2831-4911 IP and it is getting tired. I've noticed some hard warm starts and now it is loosing power at the top end. I have a fresh db2831-5436 and the only difference I can find in spec sheets is that the 4911 is rated at 200hp and the 5436 is rated at 170hp. So my question is can the 5436 be tuned up to the 4911 specs? If so, how? Would I run into any problems using the 5436 IP?

Thanks,
Ken

Quick update. Since I already owned the 5436 IP and didn't have an extra $Grand$ laying around to rebuild the 4911 I went ahead and installed it. There was a large improvement in performance which confirmed my suspicion that my old IP was worn out. I have not noticed any issues so far. I did "turn up" the fuel delivery in the replacement IP a quarter turn. After my tax return I'll probably have the 4911 rebuilt.

If it is a DB2 ford a 6.9/7.3 it will work.

Now for fueling, there is a cover on the passenger side, there is a write up in the tech archives I believe. There is a fuel screw in there that is hidden unless the engine is in a certain spot, then you can slide in an allen wrench and turn the fuel up.
