I recently bought an ats 088 turbo system and installed on pickup. Previous owner said a 60-1 wheel was installed but didn't think it was balanced. I installed it and had a oil leak 2qts in 11miles. So I pulled it for inspection found a slight bit of oil in compressor side of turbo and oil in valley pan figured main oil leak was from oil drain grommet. I rolled turbo upside down and two fairly large chunks of aluminum came out about the size of my pinky nail. What could that be? Any suggestions on the whole ordeal.

You have a junked turbo intake wheel if this came from there and its really aluminum material. The hot side is inconel as I recall and its going out. Not in. So I don't think you will see any of that hot wheel in the turbo cavity. Time for a rebuild and balance.

Only a broken piston can send any material like you describe into the exhaust side of the turbo. This aluminum may have been there from before you installed this too. A pic would sure help.
