Anybody got any pics, and schematics of how the 47re overdrive unit works?
I've searched my eyes sore, for nothing I can use.

Bottom line: I'm looking for an overdrive unit to put behind a TH400, and I don't want to pony up the bux for a gear vendor.

I've dissasembled NP203 reduction units, but i'm not satisfied with the gear ratio.
I've examined the guts from an old SM318, but the shafts are too small for the torque.
I've got an old W-G unit, from the old 3-speed. It doesn't look tough enough.
I've been wanting to try a powerglide, reversed, but I don't like the gearing there, either, and there are some powerflow issues.
I even considered using autobox guts, and manufacturing my own. Sending all the machine work out, for somehing that may not work, doesn't appeal to me.

Thanks in advance for anything helpful.

Thanks for the link, Goat. I'll check it out, after I get back from the exhaust shop.

Gotta replace the last owner's brain fart, on the car hauler.

All that info is in the service manual of an ATSG manual. Are you looking for building prints of it to see the machining capability of the unit? I may be able to help you if you PM me.
