Biodiesel processor pump?

ok today i've got closer to finishing my appleseed, i got a well water pump that someone was throwing in the trash, i cleaned it up and removed the old plumbing and it works!!! woo hoo :love:
i'll not be able to install it until next week, i've got duty this weekend and monday. :puke:
will this pump mix too fast? it is a shallow well pump i think 1hp? i think 1in fitings would gate valves work to controll the flow?
i'll try to take some pictures of my setup. :D

Yep gate valves would work. Me I like ball valves but only because at a glance I can tell if they are closed.

i just thought gate would throttle better? well i stuck it together and gave it a try, seemed to work but i think it has a bad seal between the motor and pump? i'll have to clean the bench off and have a look see?

Can't complain about the pump - it was free. If it's just the mechanical seal it won't be too bad. Hopefully it's not the housing...
