Biodiesel processor pump?

ok today i've got closer to finishing my appleseed, i got a well water pump that someone was throwing in the trash, i cleaned it up and removed the old plumbing and it works!!! woo hoo
i'll not be able to install it until next week, i've got duty this weekend and monday.
will this pump mix too fast? it is a shallow well pump i think 1hp? i think 1in fitings would gate valves work to controll the flow?
i'll try to take some pictures of my setup.

Yep gate valves would work. Me I like ball valves but only because at a glance I can tell if they are closed.

i just thought gate would throttle better? well i stuck it together and gave it a try, seemed to work but i think it has a bad seal between the motor and pump? i'll have to clean the bench off and have a look see?

Can't complain about the pump - it was free. If it's just the mechanical seal it won't be too bad. Hopefully it's not the housing...

on a deep well injector pump can i just block of the return line and use the upper suction line and have it work?
