I was in the junkyard a few days ago and stumbled on an "f150" extended cab 4x4 with 3/4 ton running gear under it. I appeared that a f150 body was relocated onto an f250 frame. I was looking at the spring mounts and they look nothing like whats on anything I own.

On top of this, the entire frame had been covered with a cut to match piece of 1/4 in plate steel. I though I got a picture of it but my phone didnt save it.

Some one obviously didnt want the frame to bend.

Here are a few pics of the mounts. They are for the back of the front springs.

They are defiantly different from anything I have ever seen. But they are riveted on, so they must be factory

That's what I thought. Looked like they had been on there awhile. I believe it was an 85 .

I would agree with the first part...different from anything I have seen....Rivets however do not however denote factory...it could be an aftermarket re builder or frame company that has modified this. Go and look and see about VIN etc...get more pics!

As a matter of fact I knew a fellow who worked on frames whom had a stash of rivets ....Not sure why snicker....
