A/C system is all original - R-12 still used --- haven't been to a shop yet, but lemme throw this out there for the pro's that are here......

Turn A/C on -- air blows cold -- really cold. After about 25 minutes, air turns warm/ambient temp -- compressor is short cycling. Turn system off -- after about 30 minutes I turn system back on -- blows cold again --- rinse &repeat

What'cha think fellas ???

Man. Maybe I need to move? I don't even think about A/C in January. Seriously I would agree on the low charge.
I almost wanted air conditioning in Georgia on Monday… it was real warm!

I’m in Salt Lake City today, and it’s 50 here.

It’s plumb cold in Kansas still, according to the weather app on my phone.

I guess I could see A/C being wanted in January in some parts of the country.

That's almost time to roll sown the windows!

That app isn't wrong. At about 3:30 it was 13*. I walked over to the Post Office and went to the grocery store. After I got home, I unloaded the rest of the fire wood out of my truck bed, split up the bigger pieces, cleaned out the stove, and got my fire going again. Overall, not a very exciting day, but I look at it as "survival while keeping my finances intact".

it sounds like a dirty condenser or evaporator given it works well for so long. The cheap option would be to clean them out and see what that does.
