You shouldn't be adding terminals to the battery terminal in the first place. If you don't go the fuse block route, add circuits by adding ring terminals to the always-hot terminal on the starter relay, with in-line fuses. That's the main junction point for all the truck's accessories. The battery + should only go to the starter relay and to the starter main motor wire.

+1 on Blue Sea.

Saw a thread on a guy using some Freightliner stuff...

I've been switching all the junky worn-out cable ends to crimp-on lugs and these military-style battery connectors.

+1 to this. I picked up the same connectors. I found that the ones that I got are a little on the large side. I picked up some 1/16" copper vanadium alloy and bent it to fit the post. They fit nice and tight now and the added stud lets me hook up my 1ton crane permanently.

In my situation, this was not an option as I was concerned with drawing too much juice through the relay. The crane on my truck can draw a fairly significant load by itself - 70A at full capacity I think. With an inline relay and fuse just for the crane, there shouldnt be any concern.

ZERO current going to the truck's accessories, etc. goes through the starter relay. The starter relay could fail electrically, and everything on that terminal would still work. The terminal is strictly a physical junction point for everything electrical on the truck, including the glow plugs. Think of it as simply a stud and nut with all the ring terminals attached to it.

I added two fuse panels to my van (one for "key-on" and one for "always on") for the 16 electrical circuits I have on top of all the Ford circuits. It's getting wild in there, so cleaning up the wiring, making good fuse circuits and wrapping all the wires really made it look nice.

It comes with plastic covers (not shown in this image) to protect them from my feet or water.

I run a marine fuse block with constant power and ground to the battery. I use it to power the battery side of my relays.

Ah yes I took another look at mine and you are right. Mines pretty loaded though, probably have too many things added to it.

I added this box, was less than 20 bucks on amazon. Had to do all the wiring but totally worth it.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075M4PRG...O3&pd_rd_r=A9V9BB8Y44XRBVP8NYFD&pd_rd_w=ItqyH

I've got wires running for WVO, filter heaters, lights, etc. I also Added bigger fuses to run a winch, stereo and a set of batteries mounted under the bed. View media item 414
I got some great info here for wiring up charging systems, including multiple batteries, solar and charging trailer batteries. http://forum.expeditionportal.com/t...heap-isolated-dual-battery-setup-for-50/page3

There is a family of these in various sizes. If you know about "smart fuses", these blocks have the "smart" built into the block so you get smart with standard fuses.

And relays are your friend to get high power out of the cockpit. And these sockets lock together which makes for a clean installation and you don't need to bolt every one down.

I really like that. For 15$ that’s a steal. I used that brand stuff to do my trailer. It’s decent. Does that take standard Bosch size relays?
