Well after about 300k miles the original e4od (I think) is about to give up. I runs fine on the city but on the highway the OD is jumping all the time, what should I do have this one rebuilt or buy a good running used one? I'm leaning to having a shop rebuild it but I don't trust any shop here they want gold for a 1 year warranty rebuild and that just ain't right.
Have anyone here rebuild one of this before? I have done another tranny but it is a stick not auto yet I know how to follow a book if there is one.

Any advice?

Thank You.

find another shop. but be prepared to pay a premuim for the HD convertor and all the upgrades. wouldn't hurt to get a quote from BTS and find out how much your local mechanic is charging to R&R the trans.

You know... with the cost to rebuild the tranny and btw I'll need an engine soon with the miles I have on this one, I'm sorely tempted to search for a 4bt and stick it in there. Price would be about the same compared to new/rebuild parts and it really isn't all that difficult.
