Looking at 4 Ford '96 factory alloy wheels with Firestone 235-85-16's at 50%
tread left. Wheels are a little rough with white corrosion around the weights
and one has a outward ding at the bead. All are holding air well.

Any comments on the possible value or condition of wheels like this? He is
asking $350.

I would figure the tires are worth 100.00 to 150.00 the rims should pull 35.00 a piece at the srapyard. That puts you between 240.00 and 290.00. The rims my be worth more, I just gave a scrap price.I would offer 275.00 and see if he takes it

Tks buckeye. Was hoping someone would comment. It's even better when the
comment falls in line with a gut feeling!!

The 'ole '86 f350 w/6.9 has worked most of it's life like it's owner. Wanted to
give it some different shoes for a change.

You mean Alcoa's? Like the ones on my 83 in my avatar?
Damage to the wheels changes value some, but the factory Alcoa's are worth a small fortune. I've seen wheels in the condition you speak of, without the special hub caps, and with junk tires go for $500+ at swap meets here. I lucked into a set that were a take off set from an ambulance, new tires and all I paid $750 for them. But like I said, I lucked out in getting mine.
Id say offer him around $300 for them and see if you can steel 'em.

i am not an expert at all but when i was looking at the truck shows and swap meets i couldn't find anything under 100 a piece. when you step up to 8 lug the price really shoots up to. i did manage to find a set that really needed a good cleaning for 200.

6NebraskaIDIs, These have the "Ford" in an oval cast or stamped into the
inside of the wheel. Didn't notice if it had 'Alcoa' anywhere. They are the
ones with, I think, 8 half or silver dollar size holes spaced around the hub.
Can't see the avatar well enough to discern the wheel appearance.

Its probably them. Alcoa is the company that owns that design, and for that matter the alloy for those wheels. Ford somehow got them to make a run of them for OEM purposes.

Do they look like this?

Those are Ford Alcoas.

Hey 6 Nebraska, THAT is them! They are considerably dirtier and dinged but
there they are. The seller (good guy) said he bought them new from Ford
for over $800 new........wish the big ding wasn't there.....

Good info guys. Now I've got some idea where these stand price wise.

I take it that no one is afraid of the ding in the bead of one rim or the
thick bubble of corrosion by the weights.
