84 6.9 Where to start finding oil consumption

I just aquired my neigbors old 84 4x4. Been sitting for a couple of years.
He said it was using 2 quarts of oil every 150 miles. First I have to get it running, then I figure I will check compression. Where is the next place to go to determine where all the oil is going?

valve guid seals maybe, cdr?, rings? leak?

Put a road draft tube on it and run the vapor through a collection tank.

what would the collection tank tell me. How much is going by the rings?

pretty much and it would also tell you if your CDR is working properly.

Yea it would give you an idea of how much oil is going out in your blow-by.

If it is leaving via blow by it would be most likely rings. If not then mabey valve guide seals? right? Took the cdr apart last year look like new.
