Was there a factory 5 spd. behind a 6.9 in the f-250s? and 350s? I am going to go look at one the guy says is a 6.9 and 5 spd.

Yea, Ive seen a few in some of the 87 trucks. That was kindof an odd year with some interesting combinations.

Yep. I've seen one. But it wasnt a ZF 5spd. It was a Mitsubishi 5spd or something crazy like that. It had the clutch slave INSIDE the bell housing! Total piece of junk in my opinion. Make sure its not one of those transmissions. It was in an 87 F250 with a 6.9.

Ive never heard of the Mitsubishi tranny being used, all the ones Ive seen have had ZF trannies.

With 4.10's, first gear does really feel like a granny gear. I can only get 10-15 mph out of it. Put the tcase in low and I can walk faster than the truck at wide open throttle.

I was looking at my 91 factory service manual and it shows a Mazda 5 speed, but it was only paired with the 300-L6 and the 302-V8
