The only reason the uppipe does not work with the zf5 is because the top of the bellhousing on the zf5 sticks out about 1 inch further (towards the back of the truck) than a c6 bellhousing. This may be the same for a t19 but I am not familiar with a t19. To be clear I have a non-gated banks turbo with the uppipe on the drivers side.

I have the non-gated banks with a T-19...uppipe also coming up the drivers side.

Does the zf have fins on the back you could grind down?

You could grind down the fins but it still will not be enough. Its really not that hard to build a custom uppipe as long as you can weld and have a sawzall. I just used 2 2 inch 90degree bent pipe, cut off the flange end of the old uppipe and fit them together. I would also recommend a 2inch body lift, it may not look good to some people but it sure helps with fabrication and installation. Take a look at the photos below. I tried to show the diffence in bellhousing depth. I hope this helps. The photos are from google images.
