hey all,

is the 1990 cummins 6 out of a dodge a non electronic model like the 94-98?

If it has electronics what?

All the Cummins up to 98 are all mechanical.

Yep all 12 valve engines are mechanical. One wire can make them run (besides starter wiring), just like your IDI.

It really only needs two hot wires to operate. One to start it and one to operate the fuel shut off solenoid.

so i found a way to make the 1990 fit my np435. Apparently cummins were mated to them in some kind of delivery van, and the adapter plate and clutch are still available from cummins. Anyone know about this?

Also what are some easy performance upgrades for these things? I want the least amount of smoke possible.
