They were also common on conversion vans...might be worthwhile to talk to a van shop about the swivel seat base.

The middle seats on my old van could actually swing all 360 degrees around...

My 74 Chevelle has 'em. They're nice when your feelin lazy and dont wana work too hard to get out. Just hit the lever, swivel out and stand up. :D
Or if in a truck, jump down.
You cant have a very big center console because you need the clearance when the seat is sideways. I think a van seat would be better modified to fit a truck than a 70's GM "A" body bucket.

Ford used them on the Chateau trim package on their vans at least up until 1989. Just found a set of four in junk yard for $10.00 a piece. Now I need to find some bucket seats for the second row. I will keep an eye out for you.

Thanks for the ideas everybody. Looks like I'm after some older conversion van seats. It appears regulations have changed and I'm not going to find anything new, at least not for light trucks/vans. -cuss
