    Fuel Line Problem

1983 Ford F-350 6.9. The fuel line that runs from the filter to the Injector Pump is leaking bad. I pulled the line off to find that it has two little rubber seals in the ends. Of course no Auto Parts places I can find carries this, as it looks like the whole line needs replaced (cant just...

    NAPA Oil Filter

I have been running the K&N Brand Oil Filters on my truck (83 6.9) for the last couple of years. Friend of mine sold his truck and gave me 6 NAPA Oil Filters. He claims they are made by WIX and are good quality. Anybody know if these are decent? Or are they like the FRAM Filters?

    Idle RPM

When I set mine to 650 rpm's, it just seems way to low. The truck shakes and it doesn't seem like the oil pressure is high enough. At 825 rpm's, it is smoother, and seems to have plenty of oil pressure

    Idle RPM

83 F-350 with the 6.9. Curious as to what rpm's everyone sets the idle to. Mine is currently about 825 r.p.m.'s

Adding 2-stroke oil to the Fuel >>>

I think it quiets the injectors and probably burns a little smoother. Oil doesnt burn as "easily" as diesel fuel, so it probably does retard the timing ever so slightly.

    Fuel Additives

Is it possible to use too much fuel additive?? I am using Diesel Kleen from Wal-Mart, which cleans and raises the Cetane level. If I use twice as much as is recomended, would it be harmful in any way?

    Brake Light

Low vacuume sensor may be it, how do I troubleshoot that?

    Brake Light

Im not even for sure where it is hooked up? I have seen the light come on when a wheel cylinder blows out.

    Brake Light

What exactly is the brake light telling us? Mine comes on intermittantly. Nothing consistent, every once in a while it comes on and stays on a few minutes and then goes off.

    How does the governor work?

Not sure how accurate my tachometer is, but it registers the high reading, and I have it showing 3450 rpm.

    How does the governor work?

My stock 83 6.9 in a F-350. First I have heard that the governer kicks in at 3400 no load, and a bit more under load? Is this true? How does it know whether you are under load or not? What is a safe max rpm to run for extended periods? Thanks!

    Normal Operating Temperature

For an 83 6.9 stock engine, what is the normal operating temperature? Im installing an aftermarket temperature guage to replace the factory guage. I notice going up hills my factory guage climbs a little, and when I stop and idle it drops drastically down a bit (quickly as well) I will plumb...
