Be careful Justin, That's what wound up costing me a lot of dough. You might ought to try the Fass 2 before you condemn it, it's way more pump than the alternatives. Anyone running any non-oem turbo's on this forum?
Tmaas, I'm with you on the small twins set. I've been thinking of building a set with an Hx40 as the big turbo. I don't want huge power, but do want instant spool at high elevation. Let us know more what you find out about the smaller turbo's. Matt- 94matt

Turbo help
I have another "outside the box" suggestion. Have you giving any thought to a cam? Most of the cams available help lower egt's, and also help improve mileage, sort of a win win situation. The reason I can't suggest a turbo, is I don't know much about the turbo's in that size. I would think...- 94matt

Turbo help
Just my uneducated opinion, I would look at stepping up in injector and tow on a lower setting on the comp (If not off). That is assuming you're having egt trouble towing with the comp turned up. The wire tap boxes do not give tow friendly power. Matt- 94matt

Getting exited about Biodiesel
I've just started running 20% bio, and man what a difference it makes. The truck is smoother and quieter, all it took was filling up with something else besides good 'ol #2. I can't wait to try 100%. Matt- 94matt

Another heads up, if you decide to go for the Carter 4601, Summit carries them for just under $100. I am surely biased against that pump after my episode and wished I would have spent the $385 for the Fass 2 the first time. Good luck with whatever you choose. Matt- 94matt

WARNING! The Carter 4601 cost me roughly $1000 when it stranded me 200 miles from home, only two months after I bought it. They are just as useless as the stock lp. Do like Whitmore said, just go with the Fass and be done with it. Matt- 94matt

Made a few calls today, Industrial Injection (Where I got my VP) said not to go above 15 psi. So I called Rip to see about lowering the pressure just a notch, and he said their pump guy says up to 25 psi is okay, but that I should listen to where I bought the VP from. Fass II, 21psi
Just finished up the fass II install, I'm a little concerned about how high the pressures are. 21psi at idle 20 cruising, and 18.5 under full load. I'm not sure if I should leave it alone, or try a different bypass spring. I am using the Fass kit , but after the pump the lines are 1/2" with no...- 94matt

How many lift pumps have you gone through?
Switching to the Fass II very soon. I am on lp number three after this weekend. My first one lasted about 30,000 in stock location, then I moved it to the tank and got another 13,000 out of it. I replaced it with the universal version from carter, it looks like the same pump as stock but...- 94matt

Sorry for the delay, my computer died and I am now up and running on a new dell. Anyways, no I have not dynoed with the new pump. I am fairly confident that it is as powerful with pump and injectors as it was with drag comp, stock pump, and same injectors. I have not tapped the wire on the...- 94matt

Overhead Computer Display
Besides the obvious intake grids, the computer does a gauge check when you turn the key on. You're freaking out the computer by not letting it complete the gauge check most likely. Matt- 94matt

Just a little update. I love the new pump!! I've got my injectors back in, comp plugged in for boost fooler capability. My truck really runs strong just between the pump and injectors, best part is, there is minimal smoke. I'm trying to make up my mind about just getting a boost fooler...- 94matt

tips for pump R&R ???
Forgot to mention a little tip I found that might help others. Instead of buying a different puller for the gear, I used my steering wheel puller with the two short bolts from the intake horn. They are the correct thread and almost perfect length. Matt- 94matt

Yep, got her done, and then got to change it back out, now waiting for my pump to get back here so I can swap out pumps for the third time in a week:( All in all, it's a pretty easy swap. First time took 3.5 hours, second time took alittle over 2 hours. I hear it takes the guys that do it...- 94matt
