    1980 F250 7.3 idi swap electrical question

I dropped a 7.3 idi with factory turbo in my 1980. I know what I need to do the make the engine work, I am not sure what I need to do for the charging system. How do I adapt the newer alternator (93 engine) to the older truck? Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    T-19 bellhousing for 6.9-7.3 idi

I’m looking for a T-19 bellhousing for 6.9/7.3 idi in the Martinsville/Bloomington Indiana area. Would consider buying T-19 transmission with bellhousing if the price is right.

Poor throttle response after replacing return lines

PROBLEM SOLVED: After running through the fuel lines and selector valve, I still had the same issue. Popped the top off the IP and had a stuck metering valve. I gave it a good soak overnight and worked it free this morning. Hit the key and she fired right up and problem gone! I had previously...

Poor throttle response after replacing return lines

I think my next move is to drop the tank and replace pickup and lines. Should the tank end of the return line be submerged in fuel?

Poor throttle response after replacing return lines

Got the selector valve all squared away and still the same issue. I can blow through the return line to tank but there is resistance, should the line in the tank be blowing bubbles in the fuel? Any chance I could have a clogged filter screen on my pick up tube and I’m simply not getting enough...

Poor throttle response after replacing return lines

I attached a hose and ran it into a jug. The engine acted the same way. With the selector valve on the front tank, I can blow through if I blow really hard. With the selector valve on the rear tank I can’t blow through at all. I guess now would be the time to pull the selector and inspect it.

Poor throttle response after replacing return lines

Fortunately the truck is not my daily driver so I will absolutely run through everything and replace as necessary. Let me ask you this though, if this blockage is indeed the cause of the lack of power and engine stalling, wouldn’t the engine run right with the return line at the rear of the...

Poor throttle response after replacing return lines

I’ve pulled the return lines and have determined that the blockage seems to be at the selector valve (if that is possible) or the tank. If I blow really hard into the line to the selector valve I can get a little flow.

Poor throttle response after replacing return lines

I pulled the return line off of the IP and was not able to blow through it.

Poor throttle response after replacing return lines

1988 F-350 with 7.3. I bought it not running. Determined the IP needed replaced. Bought new IP and installed it and truck fired right up and ran great. Drove it for a few weeks and decided I would replace the return lines. Got them all installed and I took it for a drive. Cruising down the road...
