I was told it was good and had about 90k miles on it never did here it run though. It got it for $400 with ats turbo all accessories and flywheel and clutch along with starter and glow plug system.
So with this lovely auction truck I bought for $540 turns out after I replaced the batteries and tried cranking it there is what appears to be rust water dripping from the back of the driver side cylinder head. Pretty sure gasket at minimum. So I'm debating doing the head gasket and studding it...
Ya it's hard to beat a hydraulic crimper but most people have a propane torch for the solder slugs. I have contemplated getting this all figured and make and sell them. Seems to be a market for affordable cables.
I had seen those but I think you could make your own and save a few dollars. I was looking at ordanance style lugs.
Pair these up with cables with regular lugs on the ends then the clamp is sacrificed when a leaking post happens and in theory saves the cables.
The cable I would buy...
What size cable do you guys run from battery to battery and to the starter? Got the truck home today and the battery's were flat dead may have a drain on them somewhere. GP controller maybe. The cable look like hell. Any battery preference brand and size? I know only like 3 company's make...
Marking the stud is a good idea and I agree the crows foot would effect torques 18 years ago I could tell you how much. I used to work in a calibration lab in the US Navy but slot of that info has since been flushed from memory.
Just a shot in the dark here but when torquing down the nuts for the studs did the studs try and tighten inside the block as well? Were the studs hex keyed so you could use a crows foot with a torque wrench while holding the stud steady?
Not familiar with using studs on internal engine use but...
I think I may go out to the lot were the truck is with some good batteries and fresh cables and see if I can get it to at least try to start. Think I'll take some fresh diesel in a can as well. I did check the lift pump and it shot fuel across the engine bay so I'd say that ok. The fuel that...
That is definitely on my short list. Last time I was with the truck I put some absorbent mat down into valley to absorb some of the collected oil up. I hope it's enough to pin point the leak before the power washer is required.
I failed to mention I also acquired a 7.3 with Ats turbo setup...
So I recently purchased a 86 F250 with the 6.9 ext cab 4x4, 5 speed , gear vendor and unknown turbo kit from an auction for $540 +fees. I knew going into this the truck would not start i know it's not spinning fast enough and questionable air in lines but sounds like it has compression. I am not...
