Fuel delivery issue
I recently installed all new injectors and a Conestoga IP, and the truck has been running great. I'm in Houston and ventured out this morning to check on a friend's house as he's been on vacation and wasn't here for the storm. So what did you do with your truck today?
Had some air intrusion this morning through a simple in-line filter a previous owner put in place of the water separator. Replaced the filter and fixed the aeration in the lines, but I've realized while watching the new transparent filter that fuel delivery is cyclical. It'll splash the filter...- pignoble

New tires, 255/85r16 Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx. Basically 33"x10". Pretty pleased with them, they ride a lot better than the mismatched crap that the truck had on it when I bought it.- pignoble

3G alternator question
I haven't seen a battery light - where would it be on the dash? I do have a factory ammeter (or voltmeter?) in the dash. It's marked "charge", and with the key on but motor off, the gauge is pegged to the left. When the truck is running the needle centers in the gauge.- pignoble

3G alternator question
I ended up using what appears to be a brown wire (I am partially colorblind so old faded wiring is the bane of my existence) that had been hooked up to the old alternator and I got 13.1V at the battery, at idle. My factory voltmeter still doesn't work, but I haven't opened the dash up yet and...- pignoble

3G alternator question
Thanks for all the help everybody, I'm heading out to the shed to find the wire in the factory harness and get it hooked up. The original harness has been pretty heavily modified by previous owners so I may end up just picking up a 560ohm resistor if I'm unable to locate the factory voltmeter...- pignoble

I must have done something wrong with my first post because the attachments are broken, so here's a picture from this morning. I need to fix the lower fender bracket that broke to get it to stop sagging. It's pretty low on the list of priorities, though.- pignoble

Just picked this '86 4x4 up this weekend. I've worked on diesel tractors and a Unimog a little bit, but this is the first diesel I've owned. It's got a Banks turbo and propane injection, as well as a swapped-in 4 speed stick. Odometer's showing 80k, but I'm sure it's been around at least once...- pignoble
