I found a ebay seller (usa.industries) that has remanufactured packs for $95 shipped, I was just thinking that maybe I could get a cheaper deal on a used one.
Thanks...Mine is leaking fluid into the plug...If it does work, what kind of price are you thinking?
I never changed it, I left the one that was on the pump that I swapped in, I just adjusted it to 1.2V...Funny you should ask that, I was thinking of pulling the TPS off of the old injector pump and swapping it onto the one in the truck now...I never had the OD off light flashing until I swapped...
So I pulled the transmission range sensor today, it was about an 1/8th of an inch off, but the connections were really clean, no burns or anything...fixed it and put it back on, took me about half an hour for a 5 minute job hahahaha...but, took her back on the road and now the OD off light...
Looking for the solenoid pack and plug for an E40D, RPM tach sensor for a 7.3 IDI, high idle solenoid, and transmission range sensor...if anyone has these and is willing to ship, let me know...Thanks
See, yours is sounding more like the metering valve, being that it would only die when you fed it fuel then went to stop...Mine is running rough ONLY when warm and in gear or reverse...When I looked at it this afternoon, I'm leaking at the top of the #1 injector at the nut, again...tommorow ill...
I understand wanting to sell it complete, I don't like parting stuff out either....but, it is your solenoid pack and you will be the one taking it off, give me a price that's reasonable to you shipped to Louisiana
I am starting to realize that, what happen to older vehicles being cheaper to work on lol...I have the zf5 in the barn, it was pulled working with a running 7.3 idi turbo...im sea sawing on the decision because as you said, the solenoid pack and a few sensors are MUCH easier than swapping...
Well dang fellas...$100 for the solenoid pack, $30 for the plug and harness kit, another $30 for the MLPS...thats a $160 drop right there...really considering just dropping the E40D and slapping the ZF5 in that I have sittin in the barn, all I need are the pedals, linkages and the stick.
money is really the only problem...I'm kinda leaning on a worn injection pump, I believe the one that I had in it before was possibly the original with almost 260,000 miles...The one I put in looks to be in 10 times better condition, but I am unsure of the miles. New return lines, cleaned...
well then, guess I will have to pull the trigger and get one new...sucks, what could be a simple fix is now expensive...yes, im reading up on articles on what I need to do in order to troubleshoot what is wrong with the RPM tach....and yes, it was neglected in the past...I'm starting to wonder...
For the solenoid pack, is it possible to just replace the plastic piece or maybe the rubber where the transmission fluid is leaking through...I priced the solenoid pack and the cheapest that I found is $95 shipped.
E40D Solenoid Pack And Plug and Transmission Range Sensor
Looking for the solenoid pack and plug, and transmission range sensor for the E40D. If anybody has them let me know. Thanks
I'm using an OBD 1 scanner...cheap $25 one from Autozone...I'll just forget about the other codes besides 67. I will be searching tonight for the cheapest MLPS and Solenoid pack that I can find online and replacing them when they come in.
Yes, i'll need to dive into it and see what needs to...
Brought the TPS to 1.2 at idle and 4.25 at WOT. Cancelled all codes by turning key off when retrieving codes. After that I retrieved the codes and only 67 came up. Took it for a test drive and right when I left the driveway OD Off light started flashing again. Pulled codes again and 67,43, 63...
Ok bull, I will interrupt the code retreiving when pulling the codes this time. However, I did have the throttle all the way to the floor when retrieving the codes both times. Hopefully I will not need a new MLPS, but if I do I'll just have to get one.
Will be bringin the TPS to 1.2V, I...
I got the definition of Code 43 from the book that came with the code reader (INNOVA)
43: (Trucks ONLY): Throttle position sensor below idle spec (Diesel).
Question, would a faulty range sensor, bad solenoid plug, or RPM gauge not working cause it to run rough and stall when warm and idling...
Yes, I got code 43..unhooked the batteries for about 45 minutes, hooked them back up and took it for a quick drive and OD Off light started flashing again. Pulled the codes once more and it was the same codes.
Currently have batteries unhooked, will try again tommorow and pull codes once...
Truck was shifting hard when I took it for a test run. Before I swapped the injector pump it would shift hard and early at 1/2 throttle or less but shift smoothly when throttle was above 1/2 way. OD off light just started flashing today so I cruised it back home and pulled the codes, got 67, 43...
