Ad says the trans has been pulled, but I figure the front axle is worth the asking price if it's a Dana 60. ;Sweet
SOLD
Yeah, it's no secret that the tax-man has stolen my Christmas, but perhaps my old truck can help make someone else' Christmas that much merrier.
SOLD
It needs an engine, but is in otherwise VERY nice condition, and for the $1K asking price you get all the accessories that I've...

Keeping in tune with my history of posting month-old(ish) CL ads, seller says: " king pin dana 60 front" ;Sweet
...and let this be a lesson to all of you - Do a title search before you buy property because shady companies like 5GLP out of Bedias, Tx don't pay their property taxes, and can't wait for suckers like me to walk in.
Thanks, I've e-mailed the owner about it already. He started out wanting some $1400 or something for it. The guy says it's out of an '86 with 30K on a rebuild. I just bought some acreage that as it turns out has a LOT of back-taxes due, so the tax-man has his hand in my pocket, but still, I...
Oh really... My 7.3 died of cavitation, and I wonder if this might be the fix. I've always been leery of sleeves though; heard too many horror stories about them dropping & breaking things. Are the rod journals the same from a 6.9 to a 7.3, I wonder. I think I should look a little deeper into...
I'm waiting until I have another engine to drop in before I go tearing mine apart. If I can't find a good '87 6.9 runner around here at a good price (or fair trade), then I'd consider going with a '85½+ short-block w/ 7.3 heads. The 6.9 is supposed to be more resistant to cavitation, and the...
I'd give mine up for an original Nite 4x4 badge - I say "original" because I'm not sure of how respray over chrome-finish would hold up.
Anyway, I know it's a long-shot, but maybe someone that has the Nite 4x4 badge might get in on it and we can work something out between us. I'm in no...
Try Ted's in Conroe, it's a reputible shop and they come highly recommended.
As far as cylinder boring and relieving the pistons for milling the heads or decking the block, you're going to have to see how much meat the cylinders are going to need cleared to become round & smooth again. In...
Hey man, looks like you've got some work ahead of you. I figured now would probably be an appropriate time to re-share THIS LINK in hopes you can use it to your advantage.
If you do have to machine, there's a guy on Dallas CL that has two sets, one .020 & another .040 over (hopefully you...
Yeah, I can see the stem on the TC at risk of getting banged up or bent, but mostly just in the way if you don't leave it in the trans, but I'm far from an expert here, so let us know how you decided to do it in the end & how everything turned out.
Assuming you've already unbolted the torque converter, the trans is probably sitting on the alignment pins on the back of the block. Once you start lifting the engine, a pry-bar should get them to let loose with minimal difficulty.
I did get them on, and I love the look of the black steelies. The way things are going, that toolbox may still be available when you get your truck up & going. You be sure to let me know if you need a hand pulling that 6.9, and I'd be more than glad to help.
Wheels & tires gone - Waystro, a pleasure sir.
Toolbox & drop-in liner are still up for grabs. Sorry Riot, maybe you'll get lucky & find someone headed your direction that'll haul it for a lesser amount in ga$. (<---are we allowed to say that word here?) ;Really
Eventually, I'll get off...
I've read posts saying that these are getting harder to find, so I figured I'd share:

I always seem to find this stuff after the ad's been up for a month, sorry :smoke:
