To address the original question, if you are going to get a used 3rd Gen, I'd look for an '03 - '04.5 HO vehicle. (Those are the 305 HP, 555 torque engines.) Those trucks have no catalytic converter and seem to get the best mileage of the 3rd Gen lot. 100 Proof- 100 Proof

One additional thought. In back to back tests, my truck experienced a 10 degree Max EGT drop, a .3 psi boost increase, and a .2 MPG mileage increase by doing the simple $5 Home Depot air box mod to the stock airbox. I then switched to an AFE Magnum Force system with a PG7 and re-ran the test...- 100 Proof

Hey Muddy- Still got that flat bed? Or was it a service bed? Anyway, I'll be needing a new clutch before the Dyno Day. Turns out the factory unit doesn't appreciate it when the horsepower goes over 400... :D 100 Proof- 100 Proof

Event was at the fairgrounds in Boise. Flyer was for an upcoming dyno day event in Meridian (that I attended last year). The flyer had a bunch of handwritten notes on it. One of those notes pointed me to this thread. 100 Proof- 100 Proof

OK, I confess, that's my tag. The photo in the video right after that one of the white truck with the flames is mine too.
