Thanks guys. This is showing I've got a lot of work ahead of me, but I'm in no rush. The truck has 187k on it. Clutch fan is new, radiator is new. I will take a video of the blow by. I know it has it, just not sure if it is more than usual. Where is a good place for me to get oil analysis?
Yeah, I looked up Lewiston. You are pretty much on the damn border. Nice area though. I really hope to complete this one. It needs a little extra 'umph' going up the mountain elk hunting.:D
I am in Cedar City, Utah. How about you? Bought the turbo in SLC last weekend while I was up there. I am always watching KSL and the junk yards. I am going to stay in contact with Typ4 to get some parts from him. I am debating on whether or not I should just pull the engine first and rebuild or...
Yeah, all the other pieces were tossed or something. The only reason I got it is because the people at Conestoga Diesel said they have those parts for purchase. So hopefully they really do have those parts or hopefully I can find those at a different junkyard.
I think between my brother-in-law (he's a welder) and I we can make the up pipes work. I'm planning on doing a 3.5" exhaust at the same time. I have looked at some other places for the CDR, just need to figure out how i'm going to route it.
I only have what is shown in the picture. I called Conestoga Diesel about purchasing the up pipes and a turbo hat, but they were dealing with the huge snow storm, so I'll need to call them back. Thanks Runningaford for the threads, those look awesome and will be very helpful!
Unfortunately...
So I bought a Garret turbo from a junk yard for $100. Today I was looking at how I was going to install it, but it looks like there in absolutely no room for the turbo up pipes and the down pipe. How has this been accomplished on other builds? I have looked at some pictures of other people's set...
I turned it clockwise and I can feel a little extra power. In town I'm at 5600 feet in elevation. Do I just need to let it breath even more? Or is it just that I need a turbo for this elevation?
After much reading and adding a pyro to my old truck, I finally got my fuel screw turned up and new injectors installed. I did this hoping that it was going to help me out in the power area, since I frequently venture up the mountain to 10,000 feet. After all this AND cutting the edges off of my...
Hey guys. I recently had my fuel tank selector valve replaced. (Didn't have time to do it myself). I don't drive it a ton, so this problem isn't coming about till now. The new valve isn't working. It blows every fuse that I put in it. I have gotten under there and checked the wiring. All seems...
Hey guys, I have looked for a while to find a post about removing the power steering gear, but can't find one. I am trying to remove mine cause it has a bad leak. I have the lines disconnected from it, but the pitman arm pullers i've been renting from autozone won't work because of the angle. It...
When I switch to the rear tank, it still was spilling out. Maybe I didn't run it long enough on the rear tank. How expensive is an OEM? And where is the tech section? I've only been on here a few times and don't know where to find it.
Thanks
