i agree with everyone else it has a time and place i will say though if one were to hook chains between two trucks and pull an auto is a lot better than a stick because it will slip enough to keep the axle from hopping
i personally won't own a diesel truck that isn't a stick my last truck...
i don't know what dodge guy u been talking to my buddy has a 24v and it only gets 13-14 empty i laughed at him because my truck gets 17-18 empty and 15-16 towing
mine shatters slightly i pull trailers regularly no problems with it the biggest thing with the clutch i have now was breaking it in b/c all it wanted to do was grab the old flywheel was a single i think the switched back when they went to the superduty
mine launched the springs at like 160,000 on my old 94 f350 idi ur not out of the woods yet
i went with a single mass luk the difference in take off didn't bother me the southbend in my 99 shatters more than the 94 ever did of course the clutch facing is completely different though much more...

at work we have a sorry excuss for a service truck its a 2000 gmc 1/2 w/ a 4.3 v6 auto i was coming back from a road call empty and it wouldn't hold od with a strong head wind doing 80 on the interstate
i'm looking for suggestions on what clutch i should replace my stock one with
i plan on putting 75hp or 100hp incetors in it and a banks technicooler along with the ts performance 6 pos 4 bank chip that i already have
also what would i need to do to run 75 or 100hp inectors
ur 5yr warranty should cover it i had a friend who had the tranny crap at 97,000 and it was fords problem. also the tranny could of failed because who ever changed the fluid didn't put the right additives in it.
well i hooked up to a crew cab short box chevy saturday night and it was wash the first pull my bald tire started smokin and he pulled me the second hook was in low range and at first he started to pull me then my truck started to grab some traction and he started to bounce and his cv shaft let go
i personally think edge chips are a waste of time and money and with your truck ur not going to see any performance unless u have injectors the stock ones don't support anything over a 100hp chip all u'll get is a lot of smoke
I hear ya on fixing the ford parts that are around the corn binder engine. thats y when i bought my truck i made sure it was a 5 speed that way the only real drivetrain problem would be the dual mass flywheel that did finally blow a part on me last month
