    Is the drain plug on the torque converter easy to get to, or do you have to bump the starter until it lines up with the hole? I had this problem when I changed it on my F 150 and had to end up putting a wrench on the front of the motor and turning the entire thing until it lined up.

    ive got 97k, this will be the 3rd set ive put on, and id say its an even mix between city and highway. something else i thought of too...everytime i replace the brakes they pull real hard to the right until one of the pads wears down a bit. then its even. i've had the calipers replaced...

    im not worried about the noise so much as i am performance. could having the weather stripping missing from the heat shield on my air intake be letting too much hot and humid air in causing a decrease in performance?

    well im in houston so the humidity would certainly make sense because it was up there today. the weather stripping that goes around the heat shield of the air intake came off. could this be making any difference at all?

    In regards to turbo surge....I've noticed that when it gets hot outside my truck tends to really lag and be less responsive. I really have to get on it to get it moving. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

    I would say so because you are letting more air in and the air intake is no longer sealed off in a box so to speak. You go from having air coming in on a flat surface to a 360 degree air intake

    you have to make sure that the coolant leak is not a cracked head. my gf dad has an 03 excursion and he thought it was that and turned out to be a cracked head.

    Be careful about that leak. My girlfriend's dad has an '03 excursion with the 6.0 in it, and what they thought was an EGR Cooler leak turned out to be a cracked head!

    could it potentially be that loud with the straight pipe even though i have the tailpipe ending at the back? The only thing that would concern me is the droning because I do a lot of highway driving.
