Nitrous 6.9 vs GMC Sierra gasser

I just did another run. It's about 15 psi on the bottle. My gauge only goes to 15 but it didn't bury the gauge or anything so I think it was accurate.

Nitrous 6.9 vs GMC Sierra gasser

I've been asked that a few times and I couldn't tell you.. didnt watch the gauge. I'll do another run soon and let you know. I didn't really buy a "kit" however if you understand nitrous systems they're pretty basic. There's a 10lb bottle, stainless AN lines, a nitrous solenoid on a push...

Nitrous 6.9 vs GMC Sierra gasser

Also, I know it's dogwalking, I just did work on my leaf springs and didn't align my axle when tightening everything up. I'm going to have to fix that..

Nitrous 6.9 vs GMC Sierra gasser

Here's a video of me in my IDI vs a buddy in his 5.7 lt1 gasser. He's got intake, headers, exhaust, a few other things. We were talking smack to each other on facebook about racing our trucks.. well he goes and bets me 100 bucks.. it then became a little more serious lol. So I threw in a...

    non turbo IDI with Nitrous...?

I'll post some pictures when I get to a computer. It's super simple. Way less complex than a gas system

    non turbo IDI with Nitrous...?

So I found the problem. It's hard to find nitrous, and if you can find it, it's about 5 bucks a lb. My bottle is 10 lbs. That's good for about 5 to 10 hits depending on the length of the shot. That goes quick and is expensive. But cool as all hell let me tell you.

    non turbo IDI with Nitrous...?

Honestly I haven't watched the Pyro while on the button, but as soon as I let off and look at the gauges I'm about 800 to 900 degrees. It's pretty much the perfect solution to boost lag from a non wastegated turbo plus the overly rich situation off idle due to the mechanical fuel pump being set...

    non turbo IDI with Nitrous...?

I'm currently running a dry 150 shot of nitrous. I have to launch in 4x4 otherwise it lights the tires up. Everyone that doubts it, doesn't seem to understand. I'd your truck is smoking black it's blowing unburned fuel. Spray nitrous and you will be using all the fuel. Too much is not a bad thing.

    Transmission Coolers

I actually never replaced the shroud after a broken motor mount caused the fan to hit the radiator and rip a hole in it. I got the radiator fixed, put it back together, and left the shroud out. The fan is all messed up too, and hard to come by. It's all out of balance and warped. I did my best...

    Transmission Coolers

That makes sense, however i dont see the point in having the secondary auxillary cooler then. My climate is pretty mild in the bay area, ca. I noticed right off the bat my transmission feels alot more solid, and the shifts are positive.

    Transmission Coolers

I didnt like how the radiator was the main cooler for my transmission, but then it went into a secondary cooler in the grill. I went to the junk yard the other day and found a nice oil cooler. I rerouted transmission lines to piggy back from the stock grill cooler into the secondary grill cooler...

    Cylinder Heads for a 7.3

Indeed my wording is off a bit. Its been over 2 years since ive had the motor apart, and Ive dealt with alot of engines since then. Studs then, the heads held on by studs. Youve been really helpful so far, thanks. so my only question is, if the 6.9 block is threaded for the 7/16 studs, that...

    Cylinder Heads for a 7.3

so if i modify the coolant passages just a little bit, the head will drop right on to my block? and also, at that point id be putting arp head bolts, and what size bolts would i want to get, the 6.9 size, no?

    Cylinder Heads for a 7.3

I swapped my 7.3 for a 6.9 after some cracked piston heads and loss of compression. I saved the heads from the 7.3 thinking i could port them and clean them up real well to flow better, and then swap them on my 6.9. Unfortunately, the 7.3 has one additional head bolt, so it wont work on my 6.9...

Update on my 7.3 turbo to 6.9 turbo swap

Actually I looked at a few pics I took and it seems that there were a few burned edges. I'll upload a pic of the timing setup before I removed the IP .. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it seems way advanced..

Update on my 7.3 turbo to 6.9 turbo swap

Well, I've been driving my truck for the past month or so, the past two weeks or so straight, because my car got stolen while driving my truck one day. Grr. Anyhow, I haven't completely finished everything I've wanted to, and its bothering me. First, I only have a stock water temp gauge right...

    7.3 to 6.9 swap complete!

Story behind the stack.. The 7.3 had so much blow by that the recirc into the intake was coating my turbo with oil.. I then slung it everywhere leaking out of the compressor wheel. I then routed the ccv into the exhaust by way of venturi. But then at red lights I would smoke everyone out with a...
