I know the glow plug controller is bad, so none of the 8 are working. I just figured it should start without any glowplugs in 90 degree weather.- Ross01

WTB: 4x4 ZF5
Wanting to convert my E4OD to a ZF, so I'll need everything: Tranny, flywheel, clutch, pedals, etc. I would prefer to buy a whole truck that has been wrecked. I know it will be hard to find but if anyone has one or know where one might be around Oklahoma area I'd appreciate it.- Ross01

how well does an IDI tow?
My PSD isn't an OBS, and isn't 100% stock. But I get 17-18 mpg on the hwy, avg 15, and got 12 pulling a 10,000 lbs load (my IDI plus 3000 lbs trailer). It's a crew cab 4x4 auto. I'm not sure if an IDI can do better on mileage than that in the same configuration. 3.73 gears with 285/75r16...- Ross01

how well does an IDI tow?
Get a clean Ford with a bad motor and/or tranny. Do a 24v swap with your motor. Or, if you are more in favor of mechanical engines do a 24v swap witha P-pump swap onto your 24v.;Sweet- Ross01

I love my IDI, and this is my third IDI. However, where the IDI "will do the job" the PSD will pull the trailer and probably accelerate up the hills that the IDI would lose speed on.- Ross01

zf5 vs Turbo
Sorry about the TCM, been around psd's too long. They have pcm's so I was just thinking transmission control module. Guess what I meant was a cpu. Anyway, the tach didn't work when I bought it so I replaced the sensor. He have me a spare cpu and I tried it but still shifts the same. I've...- Ross01

zf5 vs Turbo
I know the turbo won't help with a bad tranny, but this isn't my daily driver. I just want to know which one is the better deal, tranny for $500 or turbo kit for $500. I've had trouble finding both fairly cheap.- Ross01
