Just an update. Took the truck out of town again on a short trip just to go fishing this weekend. Mind you no trailer but had the whole family in the truck. Truck ran flawlessly. Didnt catch any fish but was still a good day.
The tech I talked to said with the used transmission fluid mix he had no smoke and no adverse driveability problems. I did find it funny that so many techs at the Ford dealership were owners of older Ford diesels.
