    I looked it up. The dowel pin problem is on 12 valve diesels and maybe the first year 24 valve. 2001 was a clean year for the dowel pin.

    Just an update. Took the truck out of town again on a short trip just to go fishing this weekend. Mind you no trailer but had the whole family in the truck. Truck ran flawlessly. Didnt catch any fish but was still a good day.
