From my understanding (and your sig) the 6.9 controllers failed allot and failed on as you described but the 7.3 is suppose to be more reliable.......but i guess i might be living proof they aren't:rotflmao

could be a timing issue controller is fairly simple change out don't think I could have screwed that up. Now to find an outfit that can check timing in my little ole neck of the woods
all 8 berus dead in 6 months truck run vey little in this time frame system was checked over when changed new controller was installed at same time power goes off when it was suppose to any ideas?

No intermittent setting thanks for the reply will check ignition tumbler to see if effects them they seem to only last 10 min then the trouble starts maybe I will just replace the motor

yeah it wasn't making sense that it was still heating after new rad and not working so I double checked the work I had done and found the hose issue.Just double checking the wire to power the light for the gauge is brown on the infamous dimmer switch?
I think this was my overheating issue because they told me it had a spring in it and my buddy who was helping me installed the bottom hose and I assumed the hose was correct. once changed it seems to of been the issue as it has not heated up since thanks for the info on the wire
beg to differ on starting 24valve cummins without grids in extreme cold. owned one for 10 years now and it will not start in canadian weather without letting grid heater cycle. just my expierience not trying to pic a fight just relating my own expierience
