Holley Red are garbage, what else quickly?

Well, I had a Holley Red in the truck for about 2.5 years (I didn't have to fiddle with a pressure restrictor) then a Holley Black for about 6-7 months (Where I DID have to fiddle with a pressure restrictor). Both were loud, until the engine fired, then their sound was lost to the sound of the...

Henry the Ford has been sold..

My garage is too cluttered, and among the clutter are four barrels of used motor oil (one is already filtered and thinned) a centrifuge, 0.05 micron polyester felt filter bags, a farm duty 1hp motor mounted with power steering pump, valves, tubing, fittings, final water-block filter with...

Maybe, I'll have to dig around and see.. It's caveman simple and works great.

what is a good A/M electric fuel pump for a 6.9l?

Walbro Industrial E-Lift Pump, FRB-13. Fuel pressure and flow rate are good, Marine rated Coast Guard approved.. Pretty much bullet proof.

    HENRY is for sale..

Yeah, that's Henry.. He has 8 new sleeves with less than 5000 miles on the rebuild, starts ridiculously easy but needs a new throttle cable. Everything is in the description except for the H2 system and the tank for the water injection.

    PSD vs IDI fuel economy

Not for a 7.3, you can build a very nice drycell unit for about $300. The burn is faster and specific impulse is improved, so less time to heat the head, cylinder & piston. I have observed NO difference in running temp. Do REAL research and testing like I have before you repeat other people's...

    What gauges would you install?

Primary 3 inside- Volts Mechanical Vacuum Mechanical coolant temp On hood- mechanical oil pressure mechanical fuel pressure My gauges are mix n' match, but I'm not too vain about such things, they just have to be accurate and always work. I do have an ammeter inside coming off of a 150 Amp...

    Walbro FRB-13-2 6-8 psi 43 gph

It works great, but I had to pull it out because I was hauling gravel and it was mounted in the bed. I'm going to update a few parts on it and reinstall as soon as I can use my feet again, next 2 or 3 weeks hopefully..

    Walbro FRB-13-2 6-8 psi 43 gph

Same here, and I run a Goldenrod waterblock filter in front of it to meet warranty requirements. Best pump by far (IMHO)- industrial marine pumps HAVE to be better simply because of their anticipated environment and the lives depending on them. I have it mounted on the passenger side frame rail.

    Twin Pyrometers?

I run twin Auber digital's, and can't imagine why anyone would think that only a single one would suffice on a V style engine.. They are so accurate that I can tell you what the temperature outside is just by flicking on the key (if the engine is cold). With a little creativity you can make it...

    89 Navistar 7.3 idi----Learner Question

I'll probably catch hell from the other guys about this, but it works.. Disconnect the hot wire to your glow plug controller or however your set up is, just make sure they can't glow. With brake set, trans in neutral and key in run position, take off air cleaner cover and give a little spritz of...

    Current radiator recommendations?

I got this three row about 6 years ago, it has worked like a champ the entire time. I checked it over real well the day it got here and was actually impressed with the quality of workmanship. It fit perfectly, so installation was a breeze and it cools well running Fleet Guard and extra SCA's...

My facet mechanical to electric fuel pump conversion review.

Ah, yes- I'd forgotten about the hard line to the I.P.. Mine has been 3/8" diesel rated hose for so long that it completely slipped my mind. In the photo you can see that my setup is completely off the res, so to speak. I would say "custom", but think it should be prettier to call it that. I...

My facet mechanical to electric fuel pump conversion review.

Not trying to stir the pot or be argumentative, but shouldn't that Tee be between the filter and IP?

Post up your custom fuel pump/filtration setups....

No, the stuff I had was pure black, granular and much more regular in size and shape..

I don't doubt that you are correct, I was fortunate enough to get a good 48 hour warning from my gauge.

Post up your custom fuel pump/filtration setups....

Hey Bill, I run 2 Goldenrod filters, one just before the lift pump and one under the hood on the back side of the regular location. I got that black gravely stuff after taking on a load of fuel at Raceway- never purchased from them again. The Goldenrod filterhead is designed to be supported by...

    Vacuum Warning Switch

Or... you could just chuck it in the trash and install a mechanical vacuum gauge somewhere in the cab. It will let you know a lot sooner that your pump is getting ready to suck its last breath.

Q for those that have deleted the factory fuel header

I run two fuel filters, one down on the frame rail just before the fuel pump, with shut off valves on either side to prevent siphoning when changing filters, and one on the backside of the original under-hood bracket because I went with a completely different header. It has no heater, no...

Post up your custom fuel pump/filtration setups....

This is what I run on the passenger side frame rail, after a valve isolated waterblock filter. Went through all of the pump/filter trauma several years ago. I run a 2nd waterblock filter at the regular filter location and tap off of the line to the IP to a hood mounted mechanical fuel pressure...

    diesel RX glow plugs

I don't remember- I rebuilt the engine around the end of 2015, made a new GP harness and installed a push button & 150A continuous duty solenoid. I think the controller was a little cooked, just like the original one ended up.. If I had it to do all over again, I would install a push button as...
