My truck and I got to have a ride on a tow truck. Water pump packed it in, but engine didn't overheat (caught it in time I hope). Gives me an excuse to replace the other cooling system related parts I have been stockpiling for a while now.
Thanks! I can't weld aluminum yet, just getting decent with old rusted steel but maybe one day!
Here it is on the truck! More yet to be added (tool boxes etc..)
Well I came to the decision I need a deck for my truck.
So I turned this..
Into this..
Now I just get to deal with the fun of removing the old box and a few last items and it will be on the truck!
For 1 ton axles, the rear axle (and suspension if you want) will bolt right in. The front axle will vary depending on what you are putting in but in my case I ended up doing a leaf spring conversion which really isn't all that hard to do, the factory suspension system can be moved over to the...
So this is what happens when a project sits for a while and things need to hide from about 2 months of winter! LOL
I have finally had a chance to get back to it and the grinding has begun! More patches to be done of course!
Its been a while since this has been updated but I am still at it.. I just needed to get the beast into a better "shop".
Truck still seems friggin massive and its only 14 inches taller than stock.. with 37's and room for at least 40's!

Though the other reason would be as the "because I can" project which would come after the "giant bronco" project, the "speed ticket generator -err um I mean muscle car" project...
Well I have some more updates! The Bronco has seen the road! Well not under its own power just yet.. But it moved!
Loaded up the bronco and all the donor floor parts and headed over to my buddy's place where the great rot replacement is finally underway.
Here is a size comparison...
Well this weekend I managed t find a different set of tires and rims..
37x13.5r20's and rims for $400.
They fit the truck a wee bit betterer than those bald 33's..
These trucks can pull lots, and with that 4 speed you can slow and and stop quite a bit as well and that (along with the ability to control the bounce and sway) of what you are pulling are the parts that matter. Anything from the weight range already mentioned should be fine. I pulled a 30 foot...
Got the cleanup and repaint done on that headache rack and rails.
Combination of wire wheel, paint stripper stuff, pressure washer and gasoline made this clean up well.
Same with the headache rack, this is after some self etching primer and some paint. Both the rack and rails got the...
