I popped my hood again a few minutes ago to check on my engine for potential water logging. We got a ton of rain since midnight.
Just some mild surface rust on the deck, which is to be expected. Valley and holes are just fine.

Here it is Thursday already, and the Big Storm hitting CA. and suppose to dump 6ft of snow on the Sierra. Glad we don`t live in Tahoe and that mess, and don`t even think of going over I-80 or Hwy 50 with Chain Control etc.... All the crazys out on the road. and especially the Snow Bunny`s with their ski`s etc... coming up from Commiefornia.
Jan 21 I threw the Studded tires on the 86 after that last Snow/ice storm. next day every thing melted and has been dry since.
Last Fri I finally removed them since nothing predicted.
Been loading up my Box trailer 5 x 12, with Sage Brush, it`s too close to the rear of the Big Shop, and in case of a fire don`t want it burned to the ground.
Tues took it to the Dump, wish it was hydraulic. Iam the hydraulics I guess.
Then in the afternoon headed to Carson and Costco etc.... Coming back home it was past Dusk. Got down the Hwy a ways to where traffic thinned out and could see the Lights reflecting off the road. Noticed the Left light was out.
Thanks to PNP Auto Supply, I have a good supply on HL`s. When they had a 1/2 off sale would pick up a bunch. They use to be $5 then $6 so 1/2 wasn`t bad. I have enough on hand till Iam probably 150 yrs old.
Wed morning take the H/L bezel/shroud off and had to take some screws out of the to horizintal alum. trim piece across the Core support just under the edge of the Hood. (this is a Bull Nose) Then be careful I don`t ever drop any one of the 4 itty bitty lil dinky screws holding on the HL Ring. Drop one in the gravel & good luck finding it.
Get it all back together after fighting getting things lined up etc... and with 1/2 the metal clips rusted to where the screws won`t grip.
Keep telling myself to order some new ones.., self remember to.... yeah right.
Yesterday with this new Storm coming in, the wind blowing line crazy, and I can`t go out and play. We head down to the cassino for breakfast....ok it was 12:30, depends when you get up.
Then head to Carson City...25 miles for a few errands. Stop at Costco again for some of the organtic Sweet potatoes before they run out, and a couple other things.
Heading home, dark now, and we are doing 60 or so and suddenly something fly`s up from the front of the truck and over the Cab. What the heck was that? kind of like a piece of ice breaking off and flying over the Hood.
10 miles down the road and hits me, It`s that piece of Aluminum under the edge of the Hood. Some guy behind me probably wonders where that piece of metal came from in his Windshield.....
Get home, sure enough, it`s gone.
Need another Bumper sticker "Caution Watch for Falling Parts" "Stay back 100ft".
