Ok thank you, does the Schrader valve have to be specifically for fuel ?
Because of the seal and possible corrosion or leakeage ?
And does anyone use plumbers tape on these rails or something else to prevent leakeage ?

I use pipe dope that specifies it's for heating oil and gas connections. Heating oil mind as well be diesel. You get it at home Depot. They do make yellow teflon tape that is meant for gas and oil connections as well. Also at home Depot - right next to the pipe dope.

"Goop" also works great but it's hard to break the connection if you ever need to in the future.

I bought my schrader valve off of ebay. I can't find the link now, but I'm sure with some searching, you can find it.

I'd be careful with your gauge - if you are going to keep it on the truck, I'd remote mount it(with hose) somewhere less shakey.
I killed one(admittedly cheaper and not oil-filled) pressure gauge leaving it mounted to the fuel filter - it just stopped reading right after a while and wouldn't go back to zero anymore.

Lucky you. Mine cheapie fuel gauge blew up and spewed about 15 gallons of diesel fuel all over the engine before I knew what happened. Of course, it was at midnight in the middle of nowhere lol.
If your going to put a fuel gauge underneath the engine bay, make sure it’s good quality & liquid filled.
