Well I have had my 1st gen Cummins in my 91 Ford for about a year now and and sick of the auto transmission (I have always preferred manuals but worked with what I had). I have been looking for a NV4500 for awhile but they aren't easy to find around me and when I do they want an arm and leg for...
Yeah the cable is hooked up then and I am not all that familiar with these trannys and am always trying to learn more like why I have had to check it in neutral. Thanks for the info. I just ordered the DTT billet converter which should get to me in a few weeks so I will see how that one works.
Yeah I know it is a non-lock up and looking back I probably should have gone lock up but I have already had the tranny rebuilt so I am going to stick with it for now. Gearing in my truck would be 4:10 with 35" tires. Fuel mileage sucks in everything I drive so I am used to it. Not sure what the...
Anyone had any experience a DTT torque converter? Just reading on other forums that some people were having good luck with them and wondered if anyone here uses one.
Yeah this thing got hot to the point it took all the paint off the converter. They tranny lines seemed to be flowing freely but that is something I am going to check tomorrow when it is up on the lift. The guy who rebuilds my transmissions said he has seen this happen a few times before and...
Well if it is not one thing it is another. I've been driving the truck 3 days now and I went and hooked it up to a trailer to haul a scrap car in and I fried my converter (no I did not use overdrive). I have just had this tranny rebuilt and have a low stall converter in it (precision converter...
Well I have plans to someday use this as a pulling truck so will be pumping some fuel down it. But it seems to be getting better today I hit about 22psi but I was going up hill the my foot on the floor. Thanks for the idea though.
Where would I find the size of the exhaust housing? I pulled the engine out of a 93 dodge and the guy who owned it said he had left it all stock. I had the truck out again today and was messing with it and was able to hit 15 pounds but was with the pedal on the floor and the motor screaming.
Yeah thats where I started taking it from. Thought of the line thing to so I put a new line on too. How do I check to make sure it is getting proper lubrication?
Well I started taking it from a port that I read people were taking it form on another thread and got that low reading so wanted to try it somewhere else so I drilled a hole and taped right into the intake horn.
Well its not in the gauge because I hooked up my old 15psi gauge I ran on the idi I had to check and it read the same. Also thought of the leak around where I tapped in but I should have been able to hear or feel that when I hooked up the air leak tester to it(maybe i'll put some seal all or...
