If you can't find a group size 50 I think you can use a group size 27, I seem to remember that being the solution on several of the fleet of diesel box vans I used to work on years ago.
I need to replace the fss in the burned 7.3 I have, the old one still works fine but the plastic insulators are a little melted and I'd like for that to not be a problem later! Problem is I can't remember how to change one as I haven't had to since the 90's but I do remember if you get it wrong...
The injectors cleaned up nicely and had only been installed for about six months, same with the injection pump. The pump doesn't look great but it was slap full of clean fuel as were all the metal injector lines and the pump was built by a local guy that does super good work so I'm going to run...
Found a guy on craigslist with a complete 7.3 idi for sale, it's a 94 with the factory ats turbo and appears to be complete. What's one of these things worth? It's still in the truck so I assume I could hear it run if it does run. If I can't hear it run I honestly just assume it doesn't which...
My 86 pegs the temperature gauge at about 150 degrees, I foolishly replaced the entire cooling system trying to stop the overheating when what I should have done first was installed a mechanical gauge and confirmed overheating. My gauge is bad, I've tried several temp sending units including...

Can I just buy a cdr grommet by itself? I'm working on a 7.3 that burned and the cdr grommet is completely toast! I know they come with the intake gasket but those are a little hard to come by currently and despite having been on fire mine is in great condition. If anyone knows a part number or...
I have no doubt in my mind after sitting for 11 years with milky oil that at least some of the rings are stuck so I definitely agree with you. That's why I originally told him penetrating oil and heat may get them unstuck. I definitely want to see this saga come to some sort of resolution.
You guys all make good points about the lifters, they will stick an bend pushrods, break rockers and even bend valves because of bad lifters. Had a 6.9 in high school that kept bending pushrods and breaking rockers and I just kept replacing them because I had no idea why it was happening...
