X2 on the mechanical pump, I can had a new mechanical lift pump on my 6.9 and could run 100% wmo. The electric pumps do not like anything other than straight diesel.
Yes I was reading up on how to test the plugs with a my multi meter without removing the valve covers, should get a reading of .6 to 2 ohms if they are good. Use the outside pins on the connectors to text resistance correct? I will get to that this weekend.
Didn't really listen for that, was on my way home and it was late. I will try and diagnose it better this weekend. I will get my multi meter out and check to see if I have power on both sides of the relay. Anything else that I should check?
I will just plug block heater in for an hour or...
Listened for the click when starting the truck yesterday, solenoid is definitely clicking when turning the key on. What else should I check on the glow plug system before taking the valve covers off and replacing the plugs?
I will try and get some pics this weekend maybe. Busy as hell right now trying to remodel our new to us house because we sold ours and the buys want us out by Dec. 1st!
what is uvch short for? Im sure it is something simple.
I went back and drove it a second time and checked everything I could possibly think of. Ended up buying it for $8,250. It is clean almost looks brand new inside and out, tires were about 50%. The only thing I think it will need is just the normal fluid flushes and changes and possibly a set...
Thanks guys, I did look at it and test drive it. It was about 55 degrees out and the glow plug light only stayed on for about 4 seconds, so it looks to me that they might be in need of replacement. Truck seemed to start okay very little if any smoke at start up. The truck seemed to drive good...
Looking to buy an ext. cab long bed F250 PSD zf5 4x4 with 130,000 miles. I know this is considerably low miles for the motor and truck. Is there anything I should look for besides possible glow plugs needing replaced and clutch wear?
It is a regular cab long bed. Lots of surface rust and rust thru on the body and bed. The hood and passenger door are in good shape only minor surface rust there. The cab floor is gone, none of the outer floor pan is attached to the rocker and both cab corners are gone.
It would be great...
Selling my 6.9, truck is just too rusty for me to try and fix and put more money into. I hate to scrap it because it runs like a top. Has rebuilt IP and injectors with only 5,000 miles. Set of Alcoa rims on it. Truck only has 132,000 miles on as previous owner told me the speedo had only...
Sounds like you ran out of fuel and didn't get switched back to your rear tank quick enough. I ran out of fuel in the front tank once and switched it but the truck barely made it into the driveway and died. I had to loosen injector lines and bleed out the air before it would fire again.
Thanks Gary!!! I knew you would have some input. I really am partial to the IDI as well, I wish I could make a trip out your way to pick up a nice rust free truck (no dually though).
Ok guys just wanted to get some words of wisdom from everyone here. My current truck in my signature is so rusty that I have basically deemed it beyond repair for my expertise and the cost to fix everything. I will be looking to buy a new/different truck in the next year or so and wanted to...
If that rust on the fenders failed the inspection my truck would be impounded on the spot!!! My cab floor is not attached from the front door post to the rear of the cab because the rocker and floor are so bad!
