They are Napa test stripes. Thanks CDX for the clarification as I was not sure if those were the right strips or not. Glad it looks good. Perhaps I'll save myself the trouble and just run it. Coolant Test Strips
I think i may have the wrong test stripes. The first pad is for testing Nitrate. I don't think nitrate and SCAs are the same thing? Also having a difficult time finding a shop that knows these 7.3 idi diesels. Its a van E350 and I'm not mechanic. Definitely needs exhaust. The local shop...- PrettyRicky

Coolant Test Strips
So based on the bottle it would appear I have have some SCAs in the coolant but perhaps another dose would be good? The first square on the strip is for nitrate then freeze point and then ph. Is nitrate the same as SCAs? It appears my Freeze point is around -34 - (-60) But what does PH...- PrettyRicky

Coolant Test Strips
Can someone tell me how this looks? I thought 7.3 idi were not supposed to have green coolant? I just bought mine and it has green coolant. I'm not even sure what I'm looking at here, but here is a pic of my test strip. Thanks.- PrettyRicky

So i looked and I have green coolant. I used a test strip and it left me kind of confused. There are 3 pads in which change diff color to test the coolant the bottle shows an "Ideal" color of the first pad, but the other 2 it doesn't say what the ideal color would be so I have no idea if I'm...- PrettyRicky

Why do I need a new thermostat and what's a check ball? I've heard they are easy, however with the Van front end you can hardly see any of the engine by popping the hood. I can't do it because I don't have a shop or anywhere to work on it. It's cold here in MN. Also I thought for a Radiator flush you needed special pumps or some **** to alkalize the system? I'm no mechanic. I'd thought about asking the local ems where they take theirs. Not a bad idea...- PrettyRicky
