    SOLD - 1989 Ford F250 Reg Cab, 7.3 2WD E4OD, 133K miles - $2500 OBO

Still up for sale if anybody is interested. I'd much rather deal with selling it on here verses all the idiots and tire kickers from Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace.

    SOLD - 1989 Ford F250 Reg Cab, 7.3 2WD E4OD, 133K miles - $2500 OBO

It's time to put Rosie up for sale. I wish I could keep her, but it's time for her to find a new home with a good owner. Asking for $2500 or best reasonable offer. I wanted to list it here first before putting it up on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace since this forum has helped me out a...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Replaced the ignition actuator rod and lubricated the whole assembly. Got it timed correctly on the second try.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Adjusted and tightened up my ignition switch and replaced a seized ignition lock cylinder. It's nice having a truck that reliably starts and doesn't pop when turning the key from off to run. Now to do a 3G alternator swap later this week...

Tach has power but not reading anything

When the tach is dead, is the O/D light flashing or is it off as well? If the tach is dead and the O/D light is off (not flashing) then I'd suspect that the TECA is losing power or ground somewhere.

    AC Overhaul (yes another one...)

I know some compressors say they already come with oil and not to add more while others say to add oil. Since the original compressor is showing signs of black death already, I'm not even going to try and flush/re-use old components and just buy everything new and be done with it. I've seen...

    AC Overhaul (yes another one...)

Before anybody says it, yes I did search on this before making this topic. My 89 F250 is still rocking an R12 system, but it is struggling to keep the cab cool and I can see black death buildup on the outside of the compressor. I don't see it surviving another summer so I've decided to get it...

    Replace IP/Injectors or wait?

My truck currently has 135K on the odometer. I'm not sure if the IP/Injectors were ever replaced on this engine by the previous owner and best I can tell the IP looks original. The engine is running decent overall. It does have a puff of smoke on cold start and it can get just a little hazy...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Replaced the rear brake shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, axle seals and installed new brake drums. Didn't get to change out the differential oil due to myself running out arm strength. I really hope these SKF seals don't leak... Also discovered the parking brake cable on one side is...

    E4OD guidance needed

Time for some closure. I re-pinned the connector for the MLPS switch using the bottom diagram here: https://www.oilburners.net/threads/e4od-mlps-wiring.42601/#post-479945, but discovered that this did not match what was needed on the new Motorcraft MLPS (SW5978) switch I purchased for my...

    E4OD guidance needed

The more I drive it, the better the upshifts are getting. They started out harsh but are getting to where they are more where they should be as I'm driving around in it. My guess is the TECA is re-learning its adaptive shifting. I'm still leaning towards the MLPS being bad as the reason it...

    E4OD guidance needed

From what I can determine, the MLPS sensor was replaced with a newer style sensor and has the matching wiring connector for it. Using the last pinout diagram in the picture referenced here: https://www.oilburners.net/posts/479945/ I re-wired my connector to match. My truck is 2wd so there...

    E4OD guidance needed

Epic 3 month bump! I finally have the truck back (don't ask why it took this long) but I have run into a new issue. Whenever I shift the transmission into reverse it will immediately blow fuse #5 (15 amp). If I quickly shift from park to drive it won't blow the fuse, only if I go to reverse...

    E4OD guidance needed

The rebuilder actually told me to use a specific Tru-Cool cooler for my truck or a cooler from a 6.0L Powerstroke along with upgrading to 3/8" lines at a minimum, so that will be the very next thing I install when I get my truck back. I do think the Sonnax Zip kit was the one he was referring...
