so what are some things that affect the fuel economy of these trucks stock. city i average about 13 mpg..... i know it has a minor exhaust leak before the turbo. and have not seen any fuel leaks. it also has a brand new cam sensor, ive inspected the turbo and cac and piping and all is in good...- 1990idi

the trans fluid is nice and red. im sure this one has had some of the normal work done on it since it has 275k, i just got to fix the little things here and there. the only thing i miss about my old 7.3 is that old school diesel sound....- 1990idi

alright got a free international cps today and the cruise recall done, took it on a 500 mile road trip over the weekend and averaged 16.5 mpg mostly highway at 65 mph. seemed a little low too me??? noticed that one of the exhuast pipe to the turbo is leaking. the pipe and gaskets is only 80...- 1990idi

no broken tabs on filter housing, ive looked at the charge air pipe coming out of the turbo, no oil. serviced it today with motorcraft oil filter and shell 15w40 and a puralator fuel filter. i have noticed a slight hum at 35 mph and it goes away at 40... no loose bearings or u-joints. trans is...- 1990idi

So what are these trucks really worth?
i paid 4500 for my 1990 rclb 4x4 7.3 e4od truck about 9 months ago with 60k on the clock. it had new injectors, batterys and belts at the time... oh and it looks like it just came off the show room floor.- 1990idi

glow plugs inop
ohmed out my glowplugs, 7 out of read .3-.8 ohms. one read 32.8 k ohms so i have one dead plug but that shouldnt kill the whole system should it? checked power at my glow plug controller and had 12 volts on the 2 yellow wires, white wire has 12 volts, other pins had nothing... shouldnt the other...- 1990idi

alright inspected my engin e harness connector, no corrosion or loose pins their. i traced the two yellow wires, they turn into black with orange stripe i traced one to the solenoid on the fender, it is tight no bad connection their. i couldnt tell where the other black and orange wire went...- 1990idi

where is the glow plug controller? im assuming the relay yawl are talking about is the relay on the passenger fender by the battery that is also the starter relay?- 1990idi

ALRIGHT MY WAIT TO START LIGHT QUIT COMING ON ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO, I WAS BEING HOPEFUL AND THINKING MAYBE ITS JUST THE WARM WEATHER. ANYWAYS MY GLOW PLUGS AND WAIT TO START LIGHT SHOULD HAVE COME ON LASAT NIGHT BUT THEY DIDNT. SO WHERE DO I START?- 1990idi
