Well I got my one working meter back yesterday.... Sadly the magnetic probe has some electrical tape on the wires and the end that plugs into the meter has pulled the wires parkly out od the plug. Thats a $375.00 part. So now what should I do... Require a deposit and when done with the meter ship it back to me so I can "see" any damage. Lately I have been having the person that has it ship it directly to the next member on the list. Looks like I can't trust the good members here to take care of my meters. I have three members that have had this meter shipped to them from others so its tuff pointing the finger at and asking for moneys to repair the probe. I will be testing this meter with another probe from another like meter. So... To the good member that destroyed this great program I say SHAME ON YOU... Man up.. You will never get another meter from me thats a given nor will I attempt to answer any of your engine questions. I have a very good idea who you are too.

Wow, talk about disrespectful. Sorry to hear that Gary. All I can say is hopefully the person that broke it did so before timing their truck. They definitely don't deserve to benefit from it.

Sorry to hear that....

I decided to buy my own light and adapter so i don't have to rely on renting a meter...

What a *****, Gary.

I agree that you should have the meter sent back to you first before sending it to the next member. That way you will know exactly at what point the damage was done.

I hope for the sake of what you're doing here, the guy who did this comes clean and cuts you a check to fix the meter.

Damnit, that's just rude.

Oh, by the way, I think I still have several of those connectors laying around from when I re-did my mag probe. If you'd like I will gladly shoot one your way.

I bought my own meter so I can have it when I need it. I have noticed that too many people just don't care about things. I have seen people do similar things, not out of spite, but because they didn't notice and didn't care. My rule is I NEVER loan out tools. I might bring a tool and help you out, but never give you a tool. Another thing I have noticed is that more people just don't care if you are helping them out. Its a sad trend that I have noticed is more prevalent the younger the person is.

I don't even give out advice as much anymore. People just seem to only want hear what validates their thoughts. Anything different is just dismissed.

A recent example is a coworker asking my advice about a car. He came to me because I know cars well. He had a tranny problem, and I told him not to drive it, and use his other. Did he? Of course not, cause someone else validated his thought that is would be ok for a while. He then asked me what he should do, and I told him to tow it home, and check out some shops, get prices, and also check local salvage yards. That same day he had it towed to the closest tranny shop without checking them out. They tore it apart, then told him a quote that was much too high. Then, after all the warning I gave him came true, he asked for even more advice. I told him to cut his losses and take it somewhere else that would install a tranny that you provided. He took it somewhere else, and then paid to have his pile of parts reassembled with the addition of a few new parts. Car runs, but not right, and he spent so much more than he should. He was going to just pick up a JY tranny and swap it himself, but in the end, he couldn't even be bothered to trailer his own car, and just paid for towing twice.

Another coworker asked me about his explorer that was leaning in the back. He thought it was a bad shock, but wanted my advice. I told him it was not the shock, and to take measurements and see if he can find out what was off and where. He replaced the shocks, to no effect. He then asked what I thought, thinking that it must be the springs. I told him to measure. New set of spring, and still no effect. He came and asked me AGAIN what I thought it was. Told him to measure. He finally did, and noticed a body mount bushing was gone. Replaced that, and all was well again.

That really sucks Gary. I hope this person mans up about it...if not, out them publicly.

Firehawk, I know EXACTLY what you mean...I try not to interact with any of those people since it's just a waste of my time. "I don't know." is the best answer yet. If I didn't use it, I'd probably strangle someone.

It is very unfortunate that one person can eff up a great program only bettering the drive ability and longevity of these fine machines! It only takes one and I'm sorry to hear it has happened yet again.

Please whom ever you PM Gary, explain, don't make excuses, just grab yer nuts and man up! It's just plain respectful to do so.

This is one reason I do not like lending my tools out to anyone. If you need a tool I'll gladly come over help you and take my tool home. Don't like that answer...buy your own and **** off!

Nuff rant!
